Cargo Continues to Move from Europe and Canada with Some Restrictions

To reduce the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19), the US, Europe, and Canada are tightening their borders to non-residents, but cargo continues to move. Earlier today, Canada barred the entry of travelers who are not Canadian or US citizens or Canadian permanent residents. Although the announcement does not impact Canadian trade and commerce at this time, the travel restrictions extend to non-resident/citizen drivers, which has resulted in some trucks being stopped at the border.

Across Europe, countries are making similar moves to restrict the movement of people. Despite these restrictions, freight continues to move but with reduced air cargo capacity to and from Europe.

If you have specific questions concerning your cargo, please contact a Deringer service center.
